MISSION POSSIBLE: AGENTS OF CHANGE
Agents of Change, Your Mission, should you choose to accept it, is to employ substance abuse prevention practices that are evidence-based and results-driven. This top secret Mission involves making positive systematic progress; learning from theory about what works, implementing those practices in a comprehensive manner and resolving local substance abuse problems. Join us for the 25th Anniversary National Leadership Forum, including SAMHSA's 11th Prevention Day, as we celebrate our history at the Gaylord National Hotel & Convention Center in National Harbor, MD.
Coalitions, as Agents of Change, you are at the forefront of the Mission. On 02 February, 2015, all Agents will be equipped for Mission Possible. Agents must report to CADCA’s 25th Annual National Leadership Forum to accept the Mission and make the impossible possible.
CADCA coalitions represent people and power and are comprised of agents for community change. And, as the leader of the substance abuse prevention advocacy movement, CADCA continues to be the voice supporting investment in coalitions to achieve long-term social change in their communities, states, and nation.
CADCA’s National Leadership Forum is a four-day event packed with opportunities to learn the latest strategies to fight substance abuse and hear from nationally-known prevention experts, federal administrators, and concerned policymakers. The Forum brings together over 2,700 participants representing coalitions from all regions of the country and internationally, government leaders, youth, prevention specialists, addiction treatment professionals, addiction recovery advocates, researchers, education institutions, law enforcement professionals, and faith-based leaders.
2015 Forum Highlights:
-The Coalition Ideas Fair will be expanded this year to allow additional time for you to browse through the selection of coalition ideas and speak with coalition presenters. Located in the Exhibit Hall on Monday evening through Wednesday morning, February 2-4, the Ideas Fair is a collection of visual (poster) displays developed by selected coalition adult and youth representatives. It provides Forum attendees with the opportunity to learn about effective strategies and interventions directly from the individuals who helped implement them. Attendees can expect to receive useful information, tools, and resources to take back to their communities during this one-of-a-kind networking opportunity.
-CADCA invites you to a special Celebration Dance of our 25th Anniversary to take place on Wednesday evening, February 4. The event provides an opportunity to network with some of the people who have made the Forum great over its 25-year history. Come enjoy a night of fond memories, desserts and snacks, musical entertainment and yes, some dancing! Come dressed like James Bond or your favorite agent to play a part in our spy themed event. The event is optional, ticketed event for adults ($25) and youth ($15). Register now to attend the dance (check the box online or on the paper form)!
-Be sure to download the Forum App in January to review the training session descriptions, build a schedule for yourself, connect with your colleagues and exhibitors, find a restaurant at National Harbor, etc. The app is free to all Forum attendees and available on Apple and droid device.
