FORUM 2014: THE POWER OF THE MOVEMENT
Join us for the 24th National Leadership Forum including SAMHSA’s 10th Prevention Day, the premier and largest training conference for community-based substance abuse prevention professionals, coalition leaders and prevention and addiction researchers, which is taking place February 3-6, 2014. We’re returning to the Gaylord National Hotel and Convention Center, situated on the banks of the historic Potomac River and just 15 minutes from downtown Washington, DC.

CADCA coalitions represent people and power and are comprised of agents for community change. And, as the leader of the substance abuse prevention advocacy movement, CADCA continues to be the voice supporting investment in coalitions to achieve long-term social change in their communities, states, and nation. 

CADCA’s National Leadership Forum is a four-day event packed with opportunities to learn the latest strategies to fight substance abuse and hear from nationally-known prevention experts, federal administrators, and concerned policymakers. The Forum brings together over 2,700 participants representing coalitions from all regions of the country and internationally, government leaders, youth, prevention specialists, addiction treatment professionals, addiction recovery advocates, researchers, education institutions, law enforcement professionals, and faith-based leaders

2014 Forum Highlights:
-The Forum “App” will be available free of charge in January. The app will enable you to review workshop descriptions (and the powerpoints after the meeting), build a schedule for yourself, connect with CADCA and your colleagues  at the Forum, view the floorplans in the meeting space, find a restaurant in National Harbor, etc. You will be able to download the app to droid and apple devices.

-The Membership Breakfast open to all Forum attendees will feature a panel of social media experts from the corporate world who will provide details and guidance on how coalitions can spread their news and make their work more visible using the latest technology. 

-The Ideas Fair Poster Presentations will be expanded to include even more presenters and additional time for you to browse through the selection of coalition ideas and speak with coalition presenters. Located in the Exhibit Hall on Monday evening and Tuesday morning, the Ideas Fair is a collection of visual (poster) presentations developed by selected coalition representatives. It provides Forum attendees with the opportunity to learn about effective strategies and interventions directly from the individuals who helped implement them. Attendees can expect to receive useful information, tools, and resources to take back to their communities during this one-of-a-kind networking opportunity.
